Fitting & Care of Shoes:

Dance shoes are generally worn smaller than you would wear your regular street shoes. They must fit snugly without hurting so you maintain proper balance on the dance floor. Your foot should cover all parts of the shoes and should not slide within the shoes. The more your feet can move inside dance shoes the faster the shoes will stretch, become misshapen and wear out. The shoes will stretch eventually so they should start out tighter than everyday shoes. However, they should not hurt your feet. Glove snug is the goal!

In closed toe styles for both men and women, the toes should be as close to the end of the shoe as possible without actually rubbing. In sandals, the toes should completely cover the sole of the shoe and it is preferable the toes “hang over the edge” of the shoe.

· Be sure to polish leather shoes regularly to keep them clean and hydrated.

· Brush the sole of the shoe to keep them free of wax and dirt buildup.

· Last but not least, use silicon polish to keep patent shoes from sticking and cracking.
